What drew you to become an Interior Designer?
I started my career in Finance on Wall Street. I left to raise a family and knew I wouldn’t go back. Interior Design is something that I have always loved to do, so I went back to school for it, and the rest is history!
Where do you find your inspiration?
When you have a designer’s eye, you get inspired every day. Whether it is at a restaurant, hotel, or walking around in NYC. Inspiration sometimes comes from the most unexpected places.
What is your favorite piece that you have “DIY’d”?
My son’s old dresser. He wanted a more industrial look, so we sanded down his light colored wood dresser and stained it gray. This piece did not have handles. We drilled holes and added heavy rope pulls. Totally transformed the piece and we both love it!
What is your favorite Paint Color?
When designing a cost-effective space, what are some key things to keep in mind?
The key here is to know where to put the money. By that I mean knowing which key pieces to purchase to anchor the room and then you can fill in with less expensive items. It’s tricky to get a great look while on a tight budget. That’s where the expert eye is so beneficial.
